Note: A Recreation Membership, if not currently enrolled in summer sessions and paying student fees towards Recreation, is required to attend in-person classes.
UCLA Students
Facility Access:JWC, Drake Stadium, Pools, SCRC and Tennis Courts. BFIT access is available to Undergraduate students. KREC access is available to Graduate students.
Pricing for UCLA students who do not pay the Wooden Center Fee:

Student Activate Required Prior to Purchase
The following UCLA students DO NOT pay the "Wooden Center fee" in their student service fees. The below students must contact info@recreation.ucla.edu for Recreation account activation to be eligible to purchase the membership at the student rate:
- UCLA Students who are not enrolled in classes in the current quarter
- UCLA Extension Students (Non-International): Follow instructions outlined here
- UCLA Students enrolled in self-supporting degree programs
- Email info@recreation.ucla.edu and include UCLA ID number, degree program, proof of enrollment in current quarter.
- UCLA Graduating Student
- All students are eligible to purchase one additional quarter immediately following graduation at the student rate of $60. Please log in to your Recreation account to see the student membership option.
Visiting other UC Campuses?
UC Reciprocity is a partnership between all University of California Campus Recreation departments that allows all UC students, faculty, and staff who have an active Campus Recreation membership to utilize recreation facilities across all UC campuses for free for up to 7 days. See "UC Reciprocity” section below for details.
UCLA Faculty & Staff

To obtain access to a Recreation facility, the employee should scan in using their UCLA BruinCard. If a BruinCard is not available, the employee can download the Recreation app on a smartphone to generate a member ID or bring an alternative form of photo identification.
Terms & Conditions
Free trial is only valid one time per customer. For new Recreation members only; must not have purchased a membership within the last 365 days. Must be a current UCLA Faculty or Staff with an active UC Path appointment to be eligible. Only applies to an individual adult membership; does not qualify for locker rentals, Bookings, program registrations, household adult memberships, or family memberships.

Payroll Deduction (PRD)
Payroll Deduction is a privilege for UCLA Faculty and Staff who purchase ongoing Rec membership.
Payroll Deduction Enrollment Membership must be paid upfront via credit card for the current quarter. Your payroll deductions will begin on the 1st paycheck of the following quarter. Membership rates are subject to change. Example: Pay online via credit card $120/fall quarter (prorated); payroll deduction begins January 1st at $40/month until cancelled
ELIGIBILITY
- Career, Contract or Academic Employees
- Temporary Employees with end dates who work a minimum of 50% time
All other employees must pay for their services in full at the time of purchase. (We are unable to extend PRD to ASUCLA Employees.)
ADD-ON REC SERVICES:
GroupX Pass, household adult membership, and locker rentals may be added to payroll deduction. PRD changes must be submitted via the PRD Add-On Enrollment Form by the 15th of the month to be effective for the following month.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Payroll Deduction is ongoing until cancelled, no renewals are required after initial online enrollment. PRD must be cancelled via the Cancellation Request Form and timestamped by the 15th of the month to cancel your deduction for the followingmonth.
IMPORTANT: Employees must cancel payroll deductions prior to going on temporary leave or ending appointment with UCLA, or you will automatically receive additional charges (non-refundable) upon return to any UC location. To cancel, submit the Cancellation Request Form.
PRD MISSED PAYMENTS
Missed payments in two consecutive months will automatically result in an expiration of one's Rec membership and a temporary loss of PRD eligibility. To reactivate Rec facility access, employee must purchase Rec Membership via credit card (1-month, 1-quarter or monthly autopay via credit card).
UCLA Emeriti & Retirees

- Choose the grey duration bar MONTHLY (NO END DATE), then ADD TO CART
- Accept the waivers
- Click CHECKOUT, then "Add a New Card"
- Click CHECKOUT and choose your recently added credit card in the “Choose Payment Option” window

UCLA Alumni

UCLA Alumni are individuals who have graduated from the undergraduate or graduate degree programs at UCLA. UCLA Extension students are not eligible for the Alumni rate. Students who have earned a professional certificate from a “non-degree program” are not eligible for the alumni rate.

Family Memberships
Family membership is available for two adults and up to four youth dependents (dependents are 0-17 years old). Membership is required for all ages, including infants.
Adults (18+ years) do not qualify as youth dependents for family membership and must create their own Recreation profile to purchase individual Rec membership.
Facility Access
Within a Family Membership, members 18+ years of agehave access to the following facilities:

- Hitch Basketball Courts
- Swimming Pools
- Drake Stadium
- Kinross Rec Center
Youth dependents (minors under 18 years old) as part of a Family Membership have access to the following facilities and activities and must be accompanied by an adult 18+ years:

- Leisure Swim at the SCRC Family Pool,
- SCRC Mapes Volleyball Court and Lawn,
- Drake Stadium,
- Hitch Basketball Courts, and
- IM Field
ACCESS & AGE RESTRICTIONS:
Youth (minors under 18 years) do NOT have to JWC, KREC, or BFITunder the Family Membership.

Terms & Conditions
- Family memberships cannot exceed two adults and four youth dependents (under 18 years old). Adults are not eligible for family membership. For updates or changes to the family membership, please email info@recreation.ucla.edu.
- Each facility is subject to specific policies and age restrictions. For a full list of policies and age restrictions, see policy section of each Facilities page.
- Only UCLA Recreation Personal Fitness Trainers and Instructors may conduct training sessions in any UCLA Recreation facility.
- Violations of Recreation policies may result in loss of membership.
Household Adult Memberships
Household adults can purchase a membership at the same rate and get access to the same facility Bookings as the primary Recreation member.
IMPORTANT: Refunds are NOT available for memberships purchased at a higher rate. The affiliated member must have an active student membership or Recreation membership and proof of matching mailing address for their household adult to be eligible.
Instructions for Household Adult memberships
STEP 1: Household Adult must have a Recreation Profile
- Returning members: “Sign In” in upper right corner
- Brand new members must create their own adult account (not added as a dependent to the primary member)
STEP 2: Primary Recreation member submits Household Adult Enrollment Request form
STEP 3: Sales & Service team reviews request and will email Primary member and Household Adult within three business days with instructions to register
*Students with membership in summer must reverify their household adult to be eligible to purchase summer membership. Reverification is required again at the start of fall quarter to be eligible for the academic year.
Additional Member Services
UC Reciprocity
UC Reciprocity is a partnership between all University of California Campus Recreation departments that allows all UC students, faculty, and staff who have an active Campus Recreation membership to utilize recreation facilities across all UC campuses.
Summer Quarter Access: UC students not enrolled in Summer Session can purchase Rec membership at the student rate ($60/quarter) with proof of active UC status.
Registration Process
- Create a UCLA Recreation profile and check in at the Front Desk of the desired facility
- Front Desk staff verifies eligibility (see access requirements below)
- Register for the “UC Reciprocity” Membership online. Select duration: 7 Days
- Download the UCLA Rec App for member barcode to scan into eligible facilities (Apple App, Android App)
Membership and Facility Access Requirements
Facility access requirements vary from campus to campus. However, at minimum, the following will be required to activate your reciprocity membership:
- Present current UC ID card or other valid picture ID
- Present proof of current enrollment or employment (for example, a class schedule, paid tuition bill, employment offer letter, UCPATH screenshot, or recent paycheck)
- An active Campus Recreation membership at your home institution may also be required
- Guest agrees to abide by all facility policies, participant expectations, posted regulations, and verbal instructions of UCLA Recreation staff
- Equipment rentals and program/class participation are not available to short-term visitors
- Access to KREC requires current graduate student or faculty/staff status
- Access to BFIT requires current undergraduate student status
- UCLA Recreation reserves the right to refuse entry to any individual

Reminder: when you are visiting another UC campus, you are also representing your home institution. Be sure to abide by all host institution facility use and access policies.
Locker Rentals
Pricing:
- $15/quarter
- $5/month on Payroll Deduction*
Lockers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are not guaranteed. An active Recreation membership is required to purchase and maintain a locker rental. The maximum locker rental duration is one quarter.
*Please see UCLA Faculty/Staff section above for more information on enrolling in Recreation services using Payroll Deduction.
Locker Rental Request Process:
- Submit Locker Rental Request Form.
- The Sales Team will review requests in the order they were submitted within 3-5 business days. If approved, the Sales Team will assign you a locker and you will receive an email with instructions to purchase your locker ($15/quarter).
- Log into your Recreation account and submit online payment within 5 business days of locker assignment or you are subject to lose your locker rental. Due to a high volume of requests, we cannot guarantee your locker after the payment deadline.
Locker Rental Purchase Instructions:
- Log in to your Recreation account
- On the left column, click on “Locker Assignment”
- Use the “Renew” button to purchase your locker for $15.00/quarter. Please select the correct quarter for your purchase and confirm the dates are accurate in your cart.
- Proceed through the checkout process
IMPORTANT: You will see the locker number and combination once you are in the checkout screen. This information is not printed on the receipt, and cannot be emailed to you. If you ever need to retrieve this information in person, please stop by the facility front desk with your identification and the front desk staff will assist you.
North Pool locker rooms have not yet reopened and therefore are not available for rental at this time.
Guest Passes
UCLA Recreation believes in fostering and enhancing a sense of community on our campus. By creating community, we can achieve safer environments for all participants.
Consistent with this vision, our intention when extending guest sponsorship privileges, is to give our eligible Recreation members the opportunity to share use and enjoyment of campus facilities with individuals with whom they have an established relationship.

IMPORTANT: Sponsor must accompany the guest for facility access and at all times during visit.

- All adult guests must present current photo ID (driver license, state ID, passport, rec ID, UCLA ID)
- Adult guests sign required Facility Waiver and Recreation Community Expectations upon arrival. Guardian must sign waiver on behalf of their dependents.
Facility Access Details
Age restrictions apply for Recreation facilities. Visit our Facilities Page for the full list of the current facility policies and hours of operation prior to purchase.
- JWC, KREC, BFIT, Drake Stadium: Sponsors are limited to 2 adults (18+ years only) per sponsor per day
- SCRC: Sponsors are limited to 2 adults (18+ years) and 4 youth (0-17 years, including infants) guests per family per day. For the shared benefit of all users, any additional guests will be considered a group event, and must be approved via the EMS Reservation and Rental portal.
Terms and Conditions
- Online purchases only. It is both the sponsor and guest’s responsibility to review all facility hours and policies prior to purchasing guest passes.
- Guest passes are non-refundable. Passes are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
- Guest not eligible to purchase locker rental(s), programs, classes and fitness passes or make Booking reservations.
- UCLA students who do not have active access through Wooden fees are not eligible to self-sponsor or sponsor guests. Visit Member Service page for membership options.
Guest Pass and Sponsorship Policy
- Sponsoring individual must qualify via the eligibilities outlined above and must accompany the guest for facility access and at all times during visit.
- Sponsoring individual understands that it is their responsibility to ensure guest(s) abide by our Recreation Community Expectations (updated as of 1/27/2023) at all times while in our venues. If guest(s) engages in Prohibited Conduct or otherwise causes damage to our equipment or venues, the sponsoring individual may be held responsible. We encourage you to carefully consider who you choose to sponsor.
- Eligibility to sponsor additional guests will be permanently revoked if guest does not adhere to policies.
- Guest agrees to adhere to all facility policies and Recreation Community Expectations (updated as of 1/27/2023), posted regulations and verbal instructions of UCLA Recreation Staff. If guest is removed from a facility, their access will be permanently revoked for all Recreation facilities.
- In the interest of the safety of all users, members are highly encouraged to refuse to sponsor individuals who are unknown to them and to report any such solicitations to Recreation staff. Person observed soliciting eligible users for guest sponsorship outside any recreation facility will be denied access to that facility.
- Only UCLA Recreation Personal Fitness Trainers and Instructors may conduct training sessions and private lessons in any UCLA Recreation facility.
- UCLA Recreation reserves the right to refuse guest entry to any individual.
Membership Policies & Acknowledgements
General Facility Policies
- Principal memberships are for adults 18 years and older. Dependents (17 years or younger) may not be a principal member and can only obtain facility access through a family membership.
- Facility availability and Bookings are not guaranteed and do not qualify for membership refunds, discounts or extensions.
- Personal water bottle is recommended. Beverages must be in a spill-proof, unbreakable, re-sealable container. No spitting.
- Maintain personal hygiene as to not be disruptive to the environment.
- Standing on or leaning over rails, fences, and other equipment is prohibited.
- No photography or video recording unless approved by UCLA Rec management.
- Only UCLA Recreation Personal Fitness Trainers and Instructors may conduct training sessions and private lessons in any UCLA Recreation facility.
- Be respectful of all equipment, patrons, and staff.
- Follow all staff directions, participant expectations, and posted facility signage.
Entry Policies
- Present current Rec Card, BruinCard, valid photo ID, or UCLA Rec smartphone app barcode for entry.
- Users are responsible for personal belongings. Do not bring valuables. UCLA Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Spaces must be used as intended. No loitering.
- Any participant displaying symptoms of illness may be asked to leave the facility.
- Failure to comply with policies and guidelines, facility signage, and staff instruction may result in removal from a facility, a membership suspension or membership revocation.

Booking Policies
Booking Instructions:

Booking Cancellations:

2. Click on the three dots in the right corner of the booking. Select “Cancel Booking”
Bookings open 72 hours in advance of each time slot. Bookings are not guaranteed.
- Must be an eligible UCLA affiliate with an active student membership or Recreation membership to make a Booking. No guest or day passes are allowed.
- Bookings are required to enter certain Recreation spaces unless enrolled in a Recreation in-person program or class.
- Participants will be able to make a Booking starting 72 hours in advance, up until one hour prior to the Booking start time. By obtaining this membership a Booking is not guaranteed at any time.
- Bookings that cannot be attended must be canceled no later than 60 minutes prior to the start time. Failure to cancel your Booking may result in a membership suspension and a loss of booking privileges.
- In the event that UCLA Recreation cancels your Booking for any reason, you will not be issued a make-up Booking, membership extension, or any compensation.
- Any Bookings suspected to be obtained by an automated bot will be canceled and may result in loss of booking privileges.
AutoPay Terms & Conditions - Rec Membership and BHIP OnGoing
AutoPay Membership Terms
- AutoPay requires a 3-month minimum commitment.
- After three months, it is a month-to-month membership. Each month must be paid in full on the first business day of the month.
- A valid credit card must be saved to Rec profile upon membership enrollment. It is the member's responsibility to keep the payment card up-to-date for upcoming payments. APPLEPAY not accepted.
- No membership refunds, proration, discounts, or extensions for any facility and campus closures, including the annual winter closure.
Autopay Declined Payments
- Upon a failed payment/declined card, Member Services will email member to confirm immediate expiration of membership and facility access. Member must re-purchase desired membership to reactivate facility access.
AutoPay Cancellations
- Cancellations due by the 15th - It is the member’s responsibility to submit the Cancellation Request Form prior to the 15th of the preceding month to avoid being charged for the following month.
- Email and phone requests are not valid cancellation requests. Form must be submitted to initiate cancellation.
- AutoPay memberships require a 3-month minimum commitment. Each month must be paid in full on the first business day of the month. Requests to cancel prior to 3-months will automatically result in a $30 cancellation fee to the saved card on profile.
- Membership holds are not available. Member must submit a cancellation request and can re-enroll into membership as needed.
- Refunds will not be provided for duplicate membership purchases.
- All Memberships are non-refundable and discounts and extensions are not offered for any facility or campus closures.
- If Recreation does not receive cancellation form, no cancellation will be processed. Refunds will be processed to saved card on file. For outdated/declined payment cards, Member services will contact customer via phone and email to collect new payment type.
- 90 days after submitting the Cancellation form, the refund is void.
- It is the responsibility of the member to ensure their personal contact information is up to date with Recreation. Contact information includes: current email address and phone number. Recreation is not responsible for missed communications due to out-of-date contact information.
- A refund up to 3 months of charges can only be considered for the following three exceptions. The first three months of membership are NOT eligible for any refunds.
- Refunds requested due to claimed lack of knowledge or understanding of this agreement will not be honored.
1) Member has separated from employment with the University
2) Member will be moving 50 miles or more from the facility (must provide documentation)
3) Member has a documented medical circumstance that will not allow them to use the facility. Must provide documentation to info@recreation.ucla.edu highlighting relevant dates for review.
Refund and Cancellation Policies
Refunds requested due to claimed lack of knowledge or understanding of this agreement will not be honored. For all Recreation cancellation and refund requests, please submit our Cancellation Request Form
Minimum refund request is $5. If your submitted cancellation is approved, refunds for all online purchases made within 6 months will be processed back directly to the original credit card used at purchase.
Membership & Locker Refund Policies
Recreation memberships are non-refundable; no exceptions. Credits are not available. Membership extensions, refunds, and discounts are not offered due to facility and campus closures (ie. observed holidays, health and cleaning requirements, inclement weather, and any unsafe conditions). Please note: Our membership fees are structured in consideration of the university winter closure. December hours are updated on each Facility Page when finalized.
UCLA Recreation will follow University protocol, LADPH IHE guidelines, and Institute for Higher Education guidelines regarding closure dates, hours of operations, and in-person activity. Facility and campus closures may occur as needed and membership refunds, discounts, and extensions are not offered. Facility capacities are limited in certain facilities and areas, and availability is not guaranteed.
Refunds are not available for memberships purchased at a higher rate. It the customer's responsibility to request for eligibility verification to receive a discounted rate membership. The customer must confirm accurate pricing prior to purchasing.
Recreation memberships longer than one-month can be considered for a prorated refund for one of the following reasons, require documentation, and are subject to a cancellation fee of $25:
- Termination of employment
- Transfer off-campus
- Formal leave of absence and sabbaticals
- Changes in medical condition resulting in physical limitations

Payroll Deduction Cancellation
Payroll Deduction is perpetual and will continue until canceled. Payroll Deduction must be canceled in writing via the Cancellation Request Form and timestamped by the 15th day of the month to cancel your deduction for the following month. Employees must cancel payroll deductions prior to going on temporary leave or ending appointment with UCLA, or you will automatically get additional charges (non-refundable) upon return to any UC location.
Instructional Programs, Activity Passes, MAC, & PFT
Refunds are not offered if a class is canceled or missed due to unforeseen circumstances and campus closures, including inclement weather. Credits are not available.
Make-ups may be offered through the 10th week of academic classes. No make-ups will be held during finals week.

Activity and Fitness Passes (GroupX In-Person, GroupX Virtual, BStrong, Martial Arts)
There are no refunds for quarterly activity passes, no exceptions. On occasion, classes may be cancelled and Recreation will do their best to communicate changes to those who reserved a spot. Refunds and makeups are not available due to these cancellations or updates in class schedules.
Marina Aquatic Center Refund Policy
Refund requests received by Noon (PST) at least three business days prior to the first class meeting are eligible for a 90% refund. There are no refunds or transfers after the 1st class meeting. Due to the impacted nature and full waitlists on our courses, transfers cannot be accommodated for Marina Aquatic Center programs. If a course session (or partial session) is disrupted by unforeseen circumstances, including inclement weather, the MAC will offer a rescheduled group offering within the same quarter. Refunds will not be offered for partial sessions.
Personal Fitness Training, Private Instruction, and Elite Coaching
Refunds: All requests must be submitted and timestamped no later one year of purchase using the Cancellation Request form. All private instruction expires one year from the date of purchase. Any unused sessions that have not expired are eligible for a refund (minus a $25 processing fee). The value for expired sessions can be applied towards a new Recreation purchase; no refunds will be offered for any unused, expired sessions.
Cancellations: You must provide the instructor with 24-hours’ notice when canceling or rescheduling a session in order to not be charged for that session. You must receive a confirmation call from the instructor.
CRA- CPR/AED/FA Certification
- Requests for cancellations and transfers must be requested via Cancellation Request Form at least 48 hours PRIOR to the start of the class.
- Refunds and transfers are not offered for no-shows, late arrivals, and/or failure to complete the required online portion for our blended learning CPR course. To re-enroll, participants must register for a new class at the full price.
Youth Programs & Swim Lessons
Credits are not available. All refund requests must be submitted via Cancellation Request Form by the dates listed below:
Camp Transfer Policy:
- All transfers must be requested via our Recreation Cancellation Form no later than 3 business days prior to the first day of camp and are subject to a $25 transfer fee per session, per camper.
- The transfer fee(s) will automatically be charged using the payment card saved on the guardian's Rec profile when the transfer(s) are processed.
- Transfers are based on space availability and are made at the discretion of UCLA Recreation.
- Children may give their spots to siblings or stepsiblings only. Programs are not transferable to anyone outside the family.
Summer Camp and Summer Swim Lesson Refund Policy:
- Refund Amount 90%, Request Must be Received By March 31st
- Refund Amount 75%, Request Must be Received Between April 1st - 30th
- Refund Amount 50%, Request Must be Received Starting May 1 and no later than 15 business days before the start of the session
- Refund Amount 25%, Request Must be Received Within 15 business days of the start of the session
- No refund beginning the first day of the session. If UCLA Recreation cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
Fall, Winter and Spring Camps & Swim Lessons and all Club Sports Camp Refund Policy

Intramural Sports (IMs)
Unused Intramural registration fees can be credited in full back to the participant's IMLeagues account. IM Credits will only be considered in the event of the participant never checking into any game that quarter. The IM Credit, if approved, can only be used to purchase an Intramural Sports Pass for a future season/quarter and must be redeemed within two years of original purchase.
The deadline to apply for a credit is 2 weeks after registration closes for the quarter and must be done so through the online Cancellation Request Form. Forms submitted after this date will be denied a credit or refund. Credit is not eligible for transfers to another participant and extensions are not offered. Partial credit is not offered.
